 Reading | Moses, Aaron dealing with faithless people and angry God; Joshua gives report to take this good land if it be God's will; Moses asks forgive the people, God says I will forgive the people; people go against the plan and attack; statues by God when you (the people) come into the land; I am the Lord who brought you out of a land of bondage.

A Collect for Peace
O God, the author of peace and lover of concord, to know you is eternal life and to serve you is perfect freedom: Defend us, your humble servants, in all assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in your defense, may not fear the power of any adversaries; through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer for Mission
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.
