NASA My Mini-Bible Study for 2019 | Read the Bible in a Year Using The NRSV Daily Bible Today’s Reading 1/1/2019 Day 1 Genesis 1:1 - 3:24 Reflection We begin our reading the Bible in a year at the beginning.  Our reading will take us through about 3 chapters a day, a verse to meditate upon, a reflection from one of the church greats, and a closing prayer. When I study I always have a composition book near me so that I write down what strikes me about the text. Hint: Read in your study bible or the internet on how the Hebrew Bible was formed. Genesis is the first of five books commonly known as the Pentateuch. As you read you will see different stories and ways of describing the situation. Here in the beginning we have two different Creation stories, How humanity fell or sinned, childbirth, and more. The first story of Creation was probably written by what the Priestly writer.
