Background |  Nahum The prophet Nahum lived about this time. Nahum's prophecy centered upon the hostile city of  Nineveh , where cruelty and oppression reigned supreme. The prophet pictures with horror the chariots of the rich and the horsemen rushing through the streets of the city, leaving a trail of death behind them.
