Jerusalem - Greg Olson - https://www.godisreal.today/pictures-of-jesus/ LORD’S PRAYER  Our Father in heaven,  hallowed be your name,  your kingdom come,  your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us today our daily bread.  Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.  Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil.  For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever.  Amen.  - Worship Folder, Central Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, MN USA

Thomas Merton

Image
Thomas Merton - Google images search My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not actually mean that I am actually doing so. But I do believe that the desire to please you does, in fact, please you. And I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me on the right road, though I know nothing about it. Therefore, I will trust you always though I may seem lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me and you will never leave me to face my perils alone. - Thomas Merton as share to my by my faith friend Marilyn.

Giving up fear for Lent

Giving up fear for Lent ... Len t is also traditionally a season of deprivation, the letting go or giving up of a comfort or habit or food or practice that hinders a person’s reliance on god—the sacrifice meant to create space and to invite a deeper level of faith, by replacing that which has become a cushion or a crutch or an unhealthy fixation. That being the case, I’m trying to give up fear for Lent. I am trying to remove it from my daily diet. I am trying desperately to say “no” to fear: No, to engaging so many of the manufactured, inconsequential wars of words that distract me from the greater work of loving people, of encouraging them, of seeing them—the work of compassion to which I am called.   The world already has enough followers of Jesus who have declared war on so much of it. ... Mission

ibid from a previous post For Mission Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hardwood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen. From Morning Prayer, Mission St Clare. https://www.missionstclare.com/english/March/whole/morning/06m.html Hymn: You are my salvation You are my salvation Whom then shall I fear? Prayer for Nature and a Song

Image
Greg Olson - Hope https://www.godisreal.today/pictures-of-jesus/ For the Conservation of Natural Resources Almighty God, in giving us dominion over things on earth, you made us fellow workers in your creation: Give us wisdom and reverence so to use the resources of nature, that no one may suffer from our abuse of them, and that generations yet to come may continue to praise you for your bounty; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Hymn: A voice says 'cry out' A voice says 'cry out' All men are like grass And their time of glory Soon shall pass But the word of God It will never die Surely it will stand For eternity Every ditch and valley shall be raised up Every hill and mountain be made low Every rugged place will be made flat Everybody shall see the glory of the Lord [Interlude] You who bring good news Raise your voice and shout Do not be afraid To speak the name of God The hard days are gone The debt has been paid And the time has come To walk the r
