Day 66 - Ministers and What They Are Due

Image
Prayer Suggestion Eternal God, you called ministers and leaders to proclaim your glory in a life of prayer and pastoral zeal: keep the leaders of your Church faithful and bless your people through their ministry, that the Church may grow into the full stature of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Prayer Suggestion For Families Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who places solitary persons in families: We commend to your continual care the homes in which your people dwell. Put far from them, we beseech you, every root of bitterness, the desire of vain glory, and the pride of life. Fill them with faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, and godliness. Knit together in constant affection those who, in marriage, have been made one flesh. Turn the hearts of the parents to the children, and the hearts of the children to the parents; and so enkindle fervent charity among us all, that we may evermore be kindly one to another; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.   ( Book of Common Prayer Collects ) +++ The Bible in Time | Friday | Week after the 21th Sunday after the Pentecost   New Testament Study | Today - Day 65 | Reflections on 1 Corinthians 8: Next - Day 66 | Reflections on 1 Corinthians 9 : +++ Reflection Today’s Reading -    Dear Friends in Christ,  In this

Prayer Suggestion For All Sorts and Conditions O God, the creator and preserver of all, we humbly beseech you for all sorts and conditions of people; that you would be pleased to make your ways known unto them, your saving health unto all nations. More especially we pray for your holy Church universal; that it may be so guided and governed by your good Spirit, that all who profess and call themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth, and hold the faith in the unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in the righteousness of life. Finally, we commend to your fatherly goodness all those who are in any ways afflicted or distressed, In mind, body, or estate; that it may please you to comfort and relieve them according to their several necessities, giving them patience under their sufferings, and a happy issue out of all their afflictions. And this we beg for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen. (Book of Common Prayer collects ) +++ The Bible in Time | Tuesday | Week

Prayer Suggestion I lift up my eyes to the hills; from where is my help to come?  My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heav'n and earth.  He will not let your foot be moved, and he who watches over you will not fall asleep. The Lord himself watches over you; the Lord is your shade at your right hand, so that the sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night, The Lord shall preserve you from evil; it is he who shall keep you safe.  The Lord shall watch over your going out and your coming in, from this time forth forevermore.  Psalm 121 (Book of Common Prayer | p. 234 Noon Eucharist, 5 Oct 21, Trinity Wall St | Choral Prelude: Margaret Burk - I Lift Up My Eyes ) +++ The Bible in Time | Tuesday | Week after the 20th Sunday after the Pentecost   New Testament Study, Day 63 | Today - Day 63 | Reflections on 1 Corinthians 6 : Next - Day 64 | Reflections on 1 Corinthians 7: +++ Reflection Today’s Reading -    Dear Friends in Christ,  In this chapter, Paul is embarrassed
