Using The NRSV Daily Bible Today’s Reading 4/25/2019     Day 116 Job 6:1 - 14:22 Reflection | Today Chapter 6 - Why is Job suffering? Job gets mad at friends but vows to hear them and be silent. Give me honest words. What did I do to make this happen? Causality not s*** happens, Chapter 7 - Job is complaining about his suffering. Why is God oppressing me? I loathe my life. Chapter 8 - Bildad - Job should repent. God is just. Chapter 9 - Where is the mediator between me and God? How can I get justice? Chapter 10 - I loathe my life!!!!! God help me!!! Read Day 19|January 19|Job 1:1 – 4:21 Dates |2200 BC - 1800 BC | Could have occurred as late as the Exile (600 BC - 582 BC withe the deportations) Background |  Job is a fictional story dealing with theodicy—God’s justice in light of human suffering. The book is forty-two chapters long and is framed by a prologue (chapters 1-2) and an epilogue ( 42:7-14 ). Between these bookends is a lengthy series of dialogues between Job and his friends followed by a dialogue between Yahweh and Job. The prologue and epilogue are written in a narrative style and the dialogues in poetic style.
