Today's Readings
Psalm 95
Come let us sing and worship the Lord; God is great; God is our maker; don't be like those ancestors of you who did not believe but come let us believe.

Exodus 2
Moses is born, floated into the Nile, adopted by Pharaoh's daughter, raised to be a prince of Egypt; as an adult he see the harsh treatment of the Hebrews and murders one of the task masters; he flees from the King to the land of Midan - a place that God dwells.
1 Corinthians 12/13
Paul continues to write ...
Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers; then deeds of power, then gifts of healing, forms of assistance, forms of leadership, various kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? But strive for the greater gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.
If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Mark 9
Jesus is transformed and has a discussion with Elijah and Moses (the Law and Prophets); The voice of God comes and says Listen to Him; and then they are left with Jesus. Jesus says do not say anything of this until after the resurrection and the disciples do not understand what he is taking concerning his resurrection.
Today - How have you been transformed to serve?

A Prayer Attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
