I will give you as a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth. Isaiah 49:6b  BCP p. 76

Psalm 78
Let me hear you, Lord;
Your teachings, parables, sayings of old,
The Lord gave them a promise to be with them always but they ignored God;
They forgot the miracles and wonders God did in liberating the people;
In Spite of their sin, God forgave them for the Lord is compassionate;
No matter how many times they sin; God will forgive.

2 Timothy 1 | Background
Paul is in prison writing to Timothy to remember the faith and grace given to us in Christ; keep strong in the faith.

Mark 9
Do not put a stumbling block to anyone about the faith we share in Jesus; you will be punished; cut away anything that causes you to sin.

Collect of the Day | Fifth Sunday after Epiphany
Set us free, O God, from the bondage of our sins, and give us the liberty of that abundant life which you have made known to us in your Son our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

For Mission
Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of your faithful people is governed and sanctified: Receive our supplications and prayers which we offer before you for all members of your holy Church, that in their vocation and ministry they may truly and devoutly serve you; through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

A Collect for Guidance

Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
