Readings

Psalm 18
I trust the Lord,
I was weak and afraid,
The Lord heard my voice and God saved me.

2 Peter 3 | Background
What kind of people should you be as you wait for the Lord and a new heaven and earth? Keep the faith. Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Matthew 21
Jesus tells the story of wicked tenants; the faith given to you will be given to others if you don’t use it; the church leaders around him got mad at what he was saying.

Today | First Sunday in Advent - Year B (Mark)
Collect for the Day
Almighty God, give us the grace to cast away the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light, now in the time of this mortal life in which your Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
For Mission
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hardwood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen
A Collect for Guidance
Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
