Why I Love to Pray!!

In the 1970’s I was told by my Spiritual Advisor that he thought I was being called to of a life of prayer for others. I told him, “I have no skills for that.” But, I sensed he was right and he reminded me, God often calls people to do things they can’t do, so that they will depend on God.

David was a kid;

Moses had a speech impediment;

Jeremiah was a 12-year-old “cry baby”;

Mary was an unwed teenager;

Sarah was too old to have children;

Rahab was a prostitute,

and the (Bible goes) on and on it goes (with examples.)

But the joy of praying for others is an incredible

joy for me! Because prayer is a relationship with

the One who loves us all!!

It is NOT an activity;

NOT a theology;

NOT a technique;

NOT a skill.

It IS a time spent with the Holy One

to pray God’s prayers for others, God’s ideas,

not mine!

I often don’t know what I am praying for because

I’m praying in tongues - led by the Holy Spirit. I don’t

need to know what I am praying because I

t’s an act of God’s love! ( And by the way, I have never

had one of those “spooky” slain in the Spirit experiences.)

I like to walk and pray, alone (that helps my focus).

I like to read and study the Bible

(that helps my relationship).

And I like spending time with my God praying

for God’s people!!!

What a privilege!!
