The Collect - Pray with me…
Grant us, O Lord, to trust in you with all our hearts; for, as you always resist the proud who confide in their own strength, so you never forsake those who make their boast of your mercy; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Old Testament - Exodus 12:1-14
The text is a prelude to the liberation of the people of God after 400 years of slavery in Egypt. It's the final act of the people before the Exodus.
Serves as a rationale for the establishment of the annual celebration of Passover.
The people remember this great act of God annually within each family unit.
Israel = God’s liberated people.
This event is something they always will do. It gives the particular parts/order of the event.

The Epistle - Romans 13:8-14
Vs. 8-10:
Summary of the 10 Commandments. Calls to love one another = fulfills the Law (and Prophets)
“To put on the Lord Jesus Christ is to live as close to the heart of God as is earthly possible.” (Gross)
Putting on the Law of Love is to put on Christ.
Vs. 11-14: Wake Up! Jesus is Here!
Paul continues to write about Jesus coming again, and the Law of God is love.
Look at the way Paul categorizes things of the Light and things of the darkness.

The Gospel - Matthew 18:15-20
How do we resolve conflict in faith communities?
The context of this process of resolving conflict between people living in Christian community has to be taken in view of the previous text of Matt. 18:10-14, where Jesus commands us to look for " lost sheep” in our community.
The outline of this text shows a process by which Christians are to reconcile with each other. Jesus does point out that there are some people who just will not take correction in their lives to walk the Way of Christ. These are to be expelled if they do not turn their life around to the Way of Love.
Jesus is always there even in this process. Vs. 20 “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”
