Prayers for the People

Image
https://www.dreamstime.com/photos-images/people-praying-church.html T he prayers of the people  Let us pray for the Church and the world. God of every time and place, your Son Jesus told his disciples, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.” Pour your peace, which passes all understanding, upon your servants as we strive to walk in your ways. Do not let our hearts be troubled, nor let us be afraid. We pray for your peace in our hearts, in our homes, in our land. God of Love: make us instruments of your peace. Dios de Amor: haznos instrumentos de tu paz.  During these days of discord and turmoil, teach us to love our enemies, embolden us to stand against hatred and oppression, empower us to diligently work for justice, and make us ambassadors of your love to this broken and hurting world. God of Love: where there is hatred, let us sow love. Dios de Amor: donde haya odio, sembremos amor.  Jesus forgave those who nailed him to the cross and offered forgiveness to t...

What's Next?

Image
Michael Behl http://www.godisreal.today/pictures-of-jesus/ What’s Next? The answer to this question is from the Apostle Paul. This gives an ideal summary of the faith and action of the Christian that is even a good checklist for our era of faith ... Romans 12:9-21   Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor.  Do not lag in zeal,  be ardent in spirit,  serve the Lord.  Rejoice in hope,  be patient in suffering,  persevere in prayer.  Contribute to the needs of the saints;  extend hospitality to strangers.  Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.  Rejoice with those who rejoice,  weep with those who weep.  Live in harmony with one another;  do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly;  do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil,  but take though...

Acts 9 Peter heals one and facilitates the resurrection of a devout woman. John 4 Jesus teaches but some who have followed him can’t believe what he is saying. He asks the 12 disciples and Peter says no for Jesus has the words of eternal life. Jesus predicts the betrayal of Judas. Thoughts: Do you believe in Jesus or are his words to hard for you to understand? Will your faith endure the trials of life? Can you take it to the Lord in prayer...

Judges 14 Samson arranges his marriage and Tells a riddle and gets mad. Acts 6 & 7 Stephen is arrested and begins his testimony about Jesus by first telling of the history of Israel - their salvation story. John 4 Jesus talks with the Samaritan woman, changes her life, and she testifies to the town she lives in. The people come out to hear Jesus. We have heard for ourselves and "we know that Jesus is the savior of the world." Thoughts: Listening to the Word of God transforms lives and creates faith/relationship with God directly. Someone has to bring the Word to people so that their lives are transformed. Sourc...
