Sunday - Advent 4
Psalm 24, 29 & 8, 84
Isa. 42:1-12
Eph. 6:10-20
John 3:16-21

Psalm 24 |

The earth is the Lord’s and everything in the universe;
Be clean and pure for they will receive a blessing:
The King of Glory is the Lord God;
The Lord of Hosts is the king of glory

Ephesians 6 |
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, so that
you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and
having done everything, to stand firm. Stand therefore,
and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and
put on the breastplate of righteousness. As shoes for
your feet put on whatever will make you ready to
proclaim the gospel of peace. With all of these,
take the shield of faith, with which you will be able
to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take
the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times
in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert
and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.

John 3 |
Jesus came into the world to save all things and be the light
of the world; do what is truly and do deed true to God.

Tomorrow |
Monday - Christmas Eve
Psalm 89:1-29
Isa. 59:15b-21
Phil. 2:5-11

Prayers and Intercessions
Collect of the Day: Advent 4
Purify our conscience, Almighty God, by your daily visitation,
that your Son Jesus Christ, at his coming, may find in us a mansion
prepared for himself; who lives and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

For Mission
O God, you have made of one blood all the peoples of the
earth, and sent your blessed Son to preach peace to those
who are far off and to those who are near: Grant that people
everywhere may seek after you and find you; bring the nations
into your fold; pour out your Spirit upon all flesh, and hasten
the coming of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
A Prayer Attributed to St. Francis
Lord, make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is discord, union;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

AR |
May the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing
through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
