Job is not an Israelite. Job is wealthy and faithful to God. In the heavenly court, Satan challenges God that Job will not be faithful if everything is taken away from him. God says he is wrong. Job is afflicted. Chapter 3 - Job laments on a dung heap and wonders at his plight. Chapter 4/5 - Eliphaz recommends that Job confess his sin and appeals to God’s mercy. Job is corrected by God.
