Psalm 131 | Background |
The writer in this short psalm waits for the Lord like a child waiting to
be fed; waiting with faith and silence to be fed.

Acts 8
I love Luke as he writes and it is a common every occurrence that an angel shows up to Philip. The angel takes him away to have a conversation with an Ethiopian royal treasurer who is reading Isaiah - Philip talks with the man, baptizes him, and is taken away to serve elsewhere.  Have you seen an angel today? Have you be taken away to serve elsewhere?

John 6
After the feeding of the 5000 the disciple board a board and cross the
sea. Jesus walks on the water to meet them and instantly they reach
the other side - the fed crowd looks and finds Jesus gone - they asked
Jesus why did he go - Don’t look for the physical bread I fed you … look
to God and the Son of Man.  Pray today.

Prayers and Intercessions
Collect for Week
Almighty God, you have given your only Son to be for us a sacrifice for
sin, and also an example of godly life: Give us grace to receive thankfully
the fruits of his redeeming work, and to follow daily in the blessed steps
of his most holy life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives
and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
(Proper 15, Year B)

For Mission
O God and Father of all, whom the whole heavens adore:
Let the whole earth also worship you, all nations obey you,
all tongues confess and bless you, and men and women
everywhere love you and serve you in peace; through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
For Courage and Assurance
O God,
you have called your servants to ventures
of which we cannot see the ending,
by paths as yet untrodden,
through perils unknown.

Give us faith to go out with good courage,
not knowing where we go,
but only that your hand is leading us
and your love supporting us.  Amen

A Prayer of Self-Dedication

Almighty and eternal God,
so draw our hearts to you,
so guide our minds,
so fill our imaginations,
so control our wills,
that we may be wholly yours,
utterly dedicated unto you;
and then use us, we pray you, as you will,
and always to your glory and the welfare of your people;
through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

AR |
May the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing
through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
