A call to save me from the pit, the people who are wicked, judge them for they deserve it.

2 Chronicles 24 - The king led them away from the Lord, the prophets were sent and not listened to; God will seek the Lord's people. Zechariah is stoned and asks God for vengeance.

Acts 6 - The apostles appointed deacons to serve, the apostles prayed and proclaimed, the church grew even among the church leaders.

Acts 7 - Stephen is stoned and calls for the forgiveness of those who kill him; Saul persecutes the Church, Philip preaches.

We give you thanks, O Lord of glory, for the example of the first martyr Stephen, who looked up to heaven and prayed for his persecutors to your Son Jesus Christ, who stands at your right hand: where he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.
